The golf course will be temporarily closed on Friday, May 6th from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM for the Nix Family Golf Tournament. The golf course will re-open immediately upon completion of play. We are sorry for any inconvenience to the membership, and thank you for your patience and understanding.
The Nix family, Puyallup pioneers, have owned the land that Linden Golf & Country Club occupies since an elder Nix homesteaded the property in the 1850’s. Local legend has it that Mr. Nix was instructed by the county surveyor in Tacoma to follow the Puyallup River up 7 bends in the river’s course and homestead the land on the south side of the river at that point. He followed these instructions, platted his homestead, planted an orchard (some trees of which are still standing), and remained for nearly a century and a half on this land. The golf course came into being in 1924 on the natural contours of the old Puyallup River bed. THANKS TO THE NIX FAMILY FOR CURATING THIS BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF LAND FOR ALL THESE YEARS. It is our pleasure to host their tournament one day per year.
