It’s official – We have a Match Play Champion!
On Tuesday, July 16, Division 1 winner Paul Appel took on Division 2 champ Gordy Nishimoto. It was a great golf match from the get-go. Both players fought hard for every hole, and they made the turn with “The Amiable Assassin” Gordy Nishimoto holding a 2-up lead. In true champion form, “The Mumbling Marauder” Paul Appel battled hard on the back nine to pull the match to all square after 18 holes. This would be Appel’s third consecutive match that required extra holes! He played the 19th hole well, and Gordy had his only real bad hole of the day, and the match was decided: Appel in 19 holes.
